Peace & Justice Activities
Many of us, as individuals or as a body, participate in local organizations and events that are focused on peace and social justice issues. We consider these activities to be a critically important way to express our understanding of what it means to live in our day as Jesus would.
We participate in events such as the annual Portland Gay Pride Parade, and we are very active in the various actions taken by the Metropolitan Alliance for the Common Good.

We began observing the International Day of Prayer for Peace in 2008, and since then have held a public vigil annually on September 21.

Individual members are involved in ministry to the homeless at the Sunnyside Homeless Shelter and in peace and justice organizations such as the Fellowship of Reconciliation, the War Resisters League, Transition Towns and Portland JustEcon, Occupy Portland, and a direct action affinity group Peace House Friends.
