Well, you are--but that's okay, because we would like to tell you a bit about what we have in mind for this website. These pages are intended to be a kind of one-stop resource for Occupy General Assemblies (GAs) that want to extend Direct Democracy into their respective communities. We will have How To resources available to help GAs reach out into their communities to set up Neighborhood Assemblies, even block by block if desired.
We will have pages devoted to Direct Action events and a calendar showing when and where national direct actions are taking place. There will be pages describing how to participate in various alternative economic projects, such as assisting people to form coop and collective businesses, start urban farms, and develop alternative housing opportunities for the houseless. Other pages will deal with using nonviolence as a vehicle for social change, organizing to affect local and state policy, and assisting neighbors who are being foreclosed upon. In short, there will be tons of good ideas for returning neighborliness and a spirit of good will and cooperation to neighborhoods in cities and towns across America and elsewhere.
Organizing tools will include a way for GAs to register their participation in the Neighborhood Assemblies project. That will alert people in your community that Occupy is alive, well and moving forward. Neighborhoods will be able to use tools that will help them set up housemeetings to talk about what Occupy is with their neighbors, and, by using the resources on this website, to decide how they can begin to help one another.
